Uh............
I don't have rough idea about what my research paper is going to be. But after suffering from boring topic( Sex education V.S Teen Pregnancy) in my sophomore year, I decide to choose RP topic very careful.
I know the topic must be about something I have at least some interest in, since I have to spend whole Junior year finding sources, evaluating tons of information, reading them, organizing them, and writing the paper, 7-8 pages long. Besides,I don't want to feel sleepy in any stage of the writing process, although I am starting feel sleepy right now.(Just kidding)
Since talking about RP ideas, my brain goes into blank. I just surf on the internet and see if I could find any inspiration from them.
Here's my RP rough, rough, rough, rough, and rough (How rough it is!?) ideas:
1.Family's(working place, or the society) impact(or ifluence) on gender roles ?
2. Sex and violence in the movie/TV.
3. Public figure's private life and moraliry v.s. His(her) affection on public interest
4. legality of pornography
5.Beauty(make-up, or fashion) market
6.How helpful is Taiwan's advanced education (college and graduate school) to the job?
7. Gay marriage
8. The fixed gender role v.s. Love or marriage
9. What kind of collegelife can promise a promsing life?
10. Plastic surgery v.s. self-identity
These topics are so far I can think of. Maybe they are too broad or unrealistic.
Before turning the outline, I need suggestions maybe.

Finally I'm here now...
It really took me a long time for this, coz I was thinking that I should leave something helpful for u here. Therefore, it's really been a presure for me to come up with something helpful here (even now..haha..) Anyways, you got many rough ideas here and I sorta looked all of them and found out that I don't quite understand some of the topics you listed, such as no.1 and 8.
Also, there's a particular topic I think it's far too broad now. That is the Beauty market one. (This sounds interesting and "DUCK", but first you have to narrow it down first! Might be interesting!)
And then, no.2,4&7. Well...I hate to say this, but these are just something everyone's been discussing for so long, so if u really wanna do this, maybe you can change an angle just to make it more interesting. As you said, this has to be interesting. After all, this is something we have to deal with for a whole yr! So, make ur decision wisely!!
Following is no.6 & 9. From these two topics I can see that you're pretty concerned about ur future right now, which is really good for u! Maybe thru this research paper u may be able to find out ur plan for future, who knows? Just remember to think that if it's easy to find the resources n also if there is a clear argument.Good luck with these ones!
Finally, no.3& 10. I think these two are pretty workable. I'm pretty sure there might be some existing resources already on these two and besides, these two r really something that's controversial n have a clear argument. And, most importantly, it's not that boring!
Of course these are just my opinion,feel free to do anything you like n hopefully my comments may give u some ideas about this!!
